About CRIB

CRIB group rock climbing on residential weekend in KentCRIB stands for ‘Chasing Rainbows Is Our Business’ which is a group set up by the charity Positive Parenting and Children.

Our group was set up in 2004 to support young people in South London infected and affected by HIV and AIDS.

We meet twice a month and do lots of activities. Recently we went to an adventure centre in Kent for the weekend. We enjoy sports together and trips to places such as the cinema and theme parks.

CRIB member on the high ropes at residential weekend in KentOur group also talks about how HIV affects our lives, about healthy eating and staying well. We are free to talk about our feelings in the group.

We have many interests including music, good food, going to the cinema, shopping, seeing friends, sports and museums: just like any teenager!

About A Helping Hand

'A Helping Hand' is a sister project of CRIB. Young people who are living with HIV in South London are trained to help other young people in similar situations.

A peer mentor is a bit like a big brother or sister. Having a peer mentor can be a great source of support and inspiration for a young person. They meet with mentees and are there to give them a helping hand whenever they need it , as well as just meeting to chat and do things they both enjoy.

If you would like a peer mentor have a look. Or if you think you would like to train to become a mentor then look here.
